To Whom It May Concern:

Dr. Collins presented a workshop session for our secretaries on Secretary’s Day, 1995. Her topic was You and Your Career.

In her presentation, Dr. Collins was able to keep her audience interest high throughout the program—even at 8 in the morning! She was able to share with the group stories of her own career, and how she overcame many obstacles, which was meaningful for an audience struggling to move ahead in their own careers.

Each of the secretaries was motivated to attend the session to learn new career development strategies, and they all felt as if they had achieved that objective—some learned new information, some learned new ideas, and some renewed their own motivation.

To give you an idea of their reaction, I am enclosing the evaluations from the session. In talking informally to some of them, what I heard was “she was marvelous!” and “bring her back!”

I have known Dr. Collins for several years, having first met her when she was at Blue Cross. She is one of those unique individuals who seems to command attention merely by walking into a room, and I am consistently impressed by her confidence, her ability to handle varied types of situations, and the breadth of her knowledge.

I recommend her highly for any position or challenge for which she is being considered.

Cordially,

Jean R. Haskell, Ed.D.
